Do Not Be Conformed To This World...

The Wilderness Experience RE~MIXED.

06/25/2014 20:32

It seems that the wilderness experience has been glorified these days. Many are professing to be in the wilderness, going into the wilderness or coming out of the wilderness yet have not fully divulged the fact that many times it is self-imposed and not of God, Jesus Christ nor the Holy Spirit...and that it's truly not a godly wilderness experience at that. The truth of the matter is that many are in a DESERT EXPERIENCE rather than a godly wilderness experience as Jesus was. How do I know? Well I'm glad you asked! The true God mandated desert experience (as with the Israelites) should be able to bring something out of us...or bring us out of something...for the wilderness experience there should be a manifested purpose in our lives afterwards...there should be a show of His mighty power in and through us as was with Jesus...yet often times I wonder about the full process that we have heaved ourselves into simply to seem deeper than what we are.

The Israelites wandered around the desert in the OT...yet John The Baptist rolled on the scene in the NT and was ordained and commissioned by God through the Holy Spirit to go to the DRY PLACES...the DESERT and preach repentance...have you asked yourself...why would he preach such a message in such a place? (Mark 1:4 John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness (desert), preaching a baptism [obligating] repentance (a change of one's mind for the better, heartily amending one's ways, with abhorrence of his past sins) in order to obtain forgiveness of and release from sins. Amplified)

Let's look at the desert and it's attributes:

A place (that is not able to produce fruit) of land where little precipitation (water/Holy Spirit) occurs and consequently living conditions are hostile (unfriendly, unpleasant, harsh) for living. The lack of vegetation (Fruit of the Spirit) exposes the unprotected (out of the will, uncovered) surface of the land to the process of denudation (a wearing away of the landscape and a reduction in elevation).

We as believers and followers of Christ cannot afford to be out of the will nor out of the presence of God and believe it or not...this WILDERNESS GONE DESERT place that we are claiming to be in or that we have thrust ourselves into is OUT OF HIS PRESENCE...we must QUICKLY make our way back to God and then find sure, true and godly counsel!

I submit to you today...while we glory in our wilderness turned desert experience...STAND UP...REPENT AND SEEK GOD. We must know that more damage is being done in this place than we can image or that we realize. We are being stripped of the fruit that we are to bear...The Fruit of the Spirit because in the desert we are trying to fend for ourselves without the guidance of Abba...we are trying in our own strength to figure out who is our friend and who is our foe. And so as a result we are not showing one another love, we have no joy, there is no peace within us nor around us, we have a lack of patience for others, we are not kind to one another, goodness is far from us, faithfulness is lost, gentleness and self-control are far removed. In this desert place we are not aware of the fact that though we think so much revelation is coming to us...it's really our flesh being diluted with familiarity to our surroundings and no one else is getting set free...only our emotions. We have failed to realize that we are no longer covered under His Mighty Wing of protection or that all that He has invested in us is dwindling away...every elevation that He has pronounced and all time taken to reshape, rebuild, remold us is going back to bareness...all because we want to seem deep and be in a wilderness place...a place of our own...a place that's unfriendly, unpleasant and harsh...a hostile place. Let's stop making things so deep and just get deep into God...

Take another look at the desert...

Did God REALLY place you there?

God says yet again...Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand.
